Single Mom Strong’s Empowerment Workshops provide practical, powerful information that is pertinent to a single mother’s success. WE ARE BACK IN PERSON with our new, quarterly “learning luncheon”, where you can take a break, enjoy lunch, and network with other local single mothers. As with all of our events, childcare is available on-site with our incredible childcare team. In April, we are discussing “Family Matters”, including family law, custody and child support matters. Our founder, Tara Taylor, will facilitate the conversation to ensure we gather pertinent information from the single mother’s perspective from our experts. This month, we are happy to welcome back Tara Rojas! Tara is a family law attorney and the founding shareholder of Rojas Family Law, Inc. She recognizes that every family is unique and each family law matter requires a personalized strategy to navigate through the complicated family law processes. She is known for treating each case as if it were her own, and zealously advocating for her clients, whether during negotiation or litigation. She strives to go “above and beyond” for her clients, and in doing so, has been described as strategic, tenacious, assertive, compassionate, and cost-conscious. Mrs. Rojas has been honored by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star”; an honorable distinction that only 2.5% of California attorneys receive. Tara will be joined by Lead Child Support officers from the Sacramento County Department of Child Support Services. Our presenters look forward to sharing their knowledge and expertise with the mothers of the Single Mom Strong community. This workshop will give an overview of family law, custody and child support matters, and each presenter will provide her five "key points" that she thinks every single mom should know, from: the difference between legal and physical custody… to what happens when you go to court on a custody-related issue… to why it’s important to open a child support case with the county, etc. Attendees will also be invited to write their own questions down upon entry into the event, and questions will be chosen randomly for discussion by the panel. THE FINE PRINT: Single Mom Strong is a licensed childcare provider with classroom space on-site. Rest assured that you can enjoy the presentation, while your child (Ages 2-12) enjoys a fun time with other kids! PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for childcare, as space is limited.
