Join AARP & The New Majority for a session created to introduce New Majority founders to equity crowdfunding, a community-based alternative financing mechanism to power your business or startup to the next level. Our focus is on New Majority founders, founders who identify as women, People of Color, and LGBTQIA+, but sessions are open to all. This event is the third part of a 3 part series. This session will focus on stories and lessons learned from founders and funders with first-hand experience in equity crowdfunding, followed by in-person networking to continue to build your community. Moderators: Sheila Collins, Startup Advisor, AgeTech Collaborative(tm) from AARPMackenzie Loy, Founder & CEO, The New MajorityPanel guests: Maria Pope, Head of Venture Growth & Partnerships, RepublicGarry Johnson III, Founder & Managing Partner, Bison Venture PartnersTahira Dosani, Managing Partner, ResilienceVCDoors open at 5:30pm. Panel begins at 6pm. Light appetizers and networking from 7-8pm. Food and drinks are provided by Homemade in DC. Transportation: We will be offering coordinated walking groups to and from the event at designated times o build community and support access to public transportation. These walks will be coordinated by Bibti an application where women can request travel companions from other women for daily commuting trips. If you would like to take participate in a walk on your way to or from the event location in Dupont Circle, please indicate this on your registration. Bibti will reach out to confirm the final participants a week prior to the event. We will also be offering a limited number of Lyft discount codes to guests traveling from locations without easily accessed public transportation.
