Description

At the Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce, we want to help students in our community appreciate the importance of civics in our everyday lives. Organized in partnership with The Civic Trust of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the competition sponsored by the Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce {and welcomed all 6th-8th grade Anne Arundel County students] inspires middle schoolers to become better informed about American democracy, to engage respectfully and constructively in the community, and to build greater trust in others and institutions. The top submitted essays from eligible students were selected to move on to the final round of competition: a live quiz event to test their civics knowledge. The (3) top finalists will receive cash prizes, ranging between $500-$2000. These top (3) winners will then have a chance to compete at the State level. The Bee gives students an opportunity to share their thoughts, ideas and voices about our community. It is also a way to increase their knowledge of civics. Please come and cheer on your Anne Arundel County middle school finalists, free of charge, at: Date: Thursday, April 20, 2023 Location: Michael E.
