ABOUT THIS BANQUET Theta Chapter adopted Domestic Violence Awareness as their mission because in the wake of this social catastrophe the issue was rarely discussed and many incidences of violence on campus had been virtually ignored. Whether it had been a mother or father, a sister or brother, an aunt or uncle, or even a friend; the sisters of Theta Chapter had personally witnessed and been affected by Domestic Violence. Since Spring 2000, the Theta Chapter of Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. has a Domestic Violence Awareness Banquet. This event raises awareness on this topic and has received various accolades due to the impact that it has had on the Stony Brook Community and the community at large. Each year a different aspect of this tragic practice is targeted and all profits from this event are donated to a different charity. We invite you to join us this year as we celebrate 22 years of bringing this program and awareness to the Stony Brook community. The 22nd Annual Domestic Violence Banquet recipient will be L.I.
