Introducing a series of lectures by a diverse selection of leaders in the Deaf Community. These sessions will cover a variety of topics and will provide an opportunity for you to create meaningful connections with a wide range of community members, while learning more about the Deaf community. American Sign Language/English interpreters will be provided at each of these events for a fully inclusive and accessible experience for all. April 27th, 2023: Anjel Piñero Anjel Piñero is a talented actress and content creator who was born and raised in New York. Despite being deaf, she has never let her disability hold her back from pursuing her dreams. In fact, she has used her platform to advocate for empowerment to young deaf women, inspiring them to take initiative and reach their full potential. Anjel Piñero has recently announced her candidacy for Miss New York USA 2023, with the ultimate goal of competing in the Miss Universe pageant. She hopes to use this opportunity to further raise awareness about the challenges that deaf individuals face, and to inspire other young women to never give up on their dreams.
