The sound bath spectacular will bring you to your deepest state of meditation. Sound Meditation Presents founded San Francisco's massive sound bath gatherings in 2015; bringing thousands of people together for the highest-quality sound experiences. During this event, participants will come and lay down as we bathe you in the sounds of 38" Paiste gongs, binaural beat crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls, Native American Flute, monolina, ocean drums and rainsticks, chimes and more. The Church of 8 Wheels is a re-imagined sacred space that's home to a few of San Francisco's iconic ecstatic communities. We're so happy to call this place home, and fill it with the most powerfully soothing sound bath. This beautiful event is an opportunity for us to support each other as we dive inwards and calm our nervous systems as a collective. --- Logistics— The more comfortable you are, the deeper the experience. Please dress warmly and bring a yoga mat and a blanket. Please arrive between 7:30 and 7:45 pm. This is so you can set up your space, stretch out make yourself comfortable. Transportation— This event takes place in the Haight. Parking is an odyssey. We recommend snagging a Lyft or Uber, or taking public transportation. There are good quick dinner options in the area— Reveille, Purple Rice, Thai II. It opens up deep meditative states that are usually unreachable without considerable effort. During the event, participants lie down and are bathed head to toe in sound— it's a very hypnotic, ethereal experience. You will come away with a clear mind and a deeper appreciation for the wonder of sound. We strongly recommend this event for people who have trouble meditating, or feel like they just "can't get there." We teach sound baths & sound meditation, so this practice can spread across our community. Led by Guy Douglas Guy Douglas, also known as "The Gong Guy" has been a sound healing practitioner and gong master for over 15 years. He has been involved with the healing power of music his whole life from a variety of perspectives: writing, recording, producing, and performing. He values a philosophy of music that helps clear dormant pathways to open the heart. He's on a mission to share these sounds— particularly the gong. with Simona Asinovski Simona is an interdisciplinary artist in music & movement. She discovered sound meditation while teaching yoga, and was deeply moved by its anxiety-reducing powers. She speaks about the practice of sound meditation and is dedicated to sharing this practice with as many as possible. --- Afterward, you'll be in a gentle and lucid state.... we encourage everyone to either go home and get a good night of sleep, or to connect over tea at The Center, next door.
