Born and raised in the Detroit area, Jeff Totten began SCORE Ministries in 2000 following 20 years of pastoral staff experience. SCORE stands for Sharing Christ through Outreaches, Resources, and Encouragement. Jeff has served as the Baseball Chapel Leader to the Detroit Tigers since 1991. He has also worked with the Detroit Rockers, the Detroit Fury, as well as other professional and amateur athletes. In 2002, Jeff was selected to serve as a chaplain to the athletes in the Olympic Village at the Winter Games in Salt Lake City. Jeff speaks weekly in churches and various ministries. Jeff coordinates the annual Home Plate outreach event, which has hosted over 180,000 people at Comerica Park and minor league ballparks to hear professional athletes share about their careers and their faith. Several thousand decisions for Christ have been made at these events. In 2019, Jeff made his 4th ministry trip to India for the purpose of teaching at a Bible Institute for pastors and conducting golf outreaches and leadership training for business and community leaders. From 2006-2015, Jeff and Karla helped coordinate the annual Great Lakes Coaches Time Out Conference. Jeff and Karla have been married 42 years. They live in Troy. Karla works as a fitter/tailor at an area Nordstrom. They have three adult children: Matt (Law Enforcement), Kim (Food Services Industry with her husband), and Brittany (serving on the creative team at a West Palm Beach-area church).
