The Northwest Coast Design Workshop will be led by Tsimshian Raven, Haida and Alutiiq Master Artist Allie High, Lacklagmksh ( calm before tide changes). This workshop will explore the cultural and historical significance of Northwest Coast form line design. The understanding of core elements, shapes, and colors will be used to develop a form line design. Participants will create a form line design cedar panel.
All skill levels are welcome to attend. We encourage individuals ages 24 and under to attend as well, and have reserved a few tickets for you. If you are 24 or under, please add the following ticket type to your cart: Northwest Coast Design Workshop - 24 & Under.
The free Workshop will take place at the Alaska Native Heritage Center and materials will be provided thanks to the National Endowment for the Arts. To enroll, students must agree to attend all five days of the Workshop. The Workshop will take place from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on April 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st.
