Ger Liang Tysk is the founder and owner of Red Kettle Kimchi, naturally fermented kimchi made in Midcoast Maine. Trained as a chef and working for most of her career on sailing ships in the Caribbean Sea, Ger started making kimchi on board as a way to honor her Asian heritage and add a taste of home for herself while abroad. She loves introducing people to Asian food and culture and believes in the power of food to educate and create community. At Red Kettle, she strives to use local and seasonal ingredients to make kimchi that reflects the bounty and beauty of Maine.
