Speakers:Dr. Meredith Broderick, Neurologist and Sleep SpecialistSound Sleep Guru www.soundsleepguru.com In the late 1970s, a Midwestern family adopted a young girl from South Korea and brought her home to Ohio. She was given the namesake of a renowned doctor in her family, Dr. Meredith. His kindness and dedication to caring for his patients made everyone feel as if they were members of his own family. That young girl was me, and ever since childhood, I have carried the memory of Dr. Meredith and the noble qualities he brought to his medical practice. After practicing conventional medicine for the past 12 years, I’ve been called back to my roots. The current healthcare model with rushed back to back patients, quick inclination to prescribe, and endless paperwork leaves little room for the kind of warm embrace medicine that Dr. Meredith inspired in me. I am drawn to recreate the sacred space between a doctor and a patient where trust, patience, and connection are the keys to healing. As a neurologist with an extensive background in allopathic sleep medicine, I incorporate the latest evidence-based research with behavioral sleep medicine to create customized sleep plans to minimize the use of medications. I offer care personalized to your needs so that we can resolve the underlying cause of your sleep problems. With these tools and my support, you can finally become a great sleeper. Upon completion of the program, his perspective, experience and success in the program led to an invitation to serve a three-year term on the Board of Directors of Leadership Eastside, which commenced in July of 2018. Reid’s treatment approach starts with a thorough and accurate biomechanical evaluation, necessary to develop a successful rehabilitation plan that works to achieve the goals of each individual patient. Reid believes that as a therapist, his best tools are his hands and he blends varied manual therapy techniques with specific exercise prescription, taping techniques and patient education as a means to provide a multi-dimensional style of care. Reid has also successfully developed the skill of providing custom foot orthotics to the appropriate patient presentation to help augment muscle retraining and biomechanical alignment. To drive best practice models, Reid believes in keeping up to date with current research outcomes, integrating new awareness into his delivery of care. He has collaborated with physicians, surgeons, chiropractors, wellness coaches, fitness centers, sports teams and independent personal trainers within the community to heighten the relationship between those involved in the overall well-being of his patients. His background includes treating high-level athletes from the professional and collegiate level to recreational sports participants and those who simply want to improve their day-to-day function. Reid has always strived to maintain a fun and pleasant environment that patients find welcoming and enjoyable. It is his clinical goal to provide valuable and attuned service at each visit to ensure patient compliance and superior outcomes. He has an outstanding reputation with physicians and providers on the Eastside, as well as a loyal and dedicated patient population that has continued to highly recommend his care. Outside of the clinic, Reid is fueled by hiking in the mountains, weightlifting, music, traveling, learning more about the wine industry and connecting with friends and family. Trusting that person is quite possibly one of the most important and influential decisions you can make. I serve as a partner and mentor to my clients. I guide them through life events so they can have confidence in their future. I take the time to listen, understand your story, and find what is important to you and your family.
