Description
This event includes some walking over grassy, uneven, and potentially muddy terrain. Dress in sturdy shoes and long pants.
Join us for a tour of a solar farm that provides green power to our Green Powered members, plus residents of Providence, Portsmouth, Barrington, South Kingstown, Newport, Narragansett, and Central Falls via their new community electricity programs.
Built on top of a closed landfill, the Johnston solar site covers x acres with x panels and produces about x MWH of clean energy every year. Developer Captona Partners will show us around & discuss the history, operations, & impact of the Johnston solar farm.
Plus, check out electric cars, talk with their drivers, and enjoy bagels and pastries on us.
This event is free and open to the public, but space is limited, so please RSVP with intention to attend (and cancel your RSVP if you can no longer make it so we may give your spot to someone else).
