Do you love playing Wingspan? Did you receive the game as a gift, but haven't played it much because it's complicated? Have you heard of it, but haven't played yet? Have you never heard of the game, but we've piqued your interest? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then join us for a Wingspan Game Day at the WNY Welcome Center in Grand Island, NY.  A little about the game... Wingspan is a competitive, medium-weight, card-driven, engine-building board game from designer Elizabeth Hargrave and Stonemaier Games. It is the 2019 winner of the prestigious Kennerspiel des Jahres award. You are bird enthusiasts—researchers, bird watchers, ornithologists, and collectors—seeking to discover and attract the best birds to your network of wildlife preserves. Each bird extends a chain of powerful combinations in one of your habitats (actions). These habitats focus on several key aspects of growth: Gain food tokens via custom dice in a birdfeeder dice tower Lay eggs using egg miniatures in a variety of colors Draw from hundreds of unique bird cards and play them The winner is the player with the most points after 4 rounds. Here is a tutorial to watch if you want more info! Wingspan How To Play We plan to start at 1pm and play until we're done or you're done. Whatever works! The WNY Welcome Center has plenty of tables to use and a gift/snack shop available to purchase anything you'd like during game play. We like the BjornCorn Classic Popcorn!  Western New York Welcome Center | Taste NY We will pair up those who know how to play with folks who do not know how to play so that everyone can learn. If you own the game, please bring it so that we have enough games to play with. If you own the expansion, feel free to bring that too for a more advanced game table.
