Are you interested in learning how to plant a native garden? Do you want to beautify your outdoor space and landscape with native species? Then join Plant Pono, a program of the BIISC for a FREE native planting class! In our planting class, you'll learn the basics of native planting, including soil preparation, seed selection, planting techniques, and proper watering and fertilization. You'll also get hands-on experience planting your own native species, and you'll leave with a free native tree to take home! **Space is limited. Please carpool if possible. Tickets are for 15 vehicles. Please let us know if more people will be in your car and we will ensure they get a native tree as well!*** This event is brought to you by the Big Island Invasive Species Committee and Tropical Edibles Nursery with funding from Kaulunani Urban & Community Forestry program.
