On May 4th from 5-8 p.m. join the Tucson Museum of Art for its monthly First Thursday and celebrate the opening of Popol Vuh and the Maya Art of Storytelling, an exhibition that explores the sacred story of the Popol Vuh and reflects the importance of Maize in Mayan culture. The evening will feature a lecture by artist Justin Favela at 5:00 p.m., art and gallery activities led by Ami Dalal and Laila Halaby, live marimba music by Amilcar Guevara and Homero CerĂ³n, food for purchase from OaxaRico, and a cash bar serving beer and wine.
First Thursday is presented by an anonymous donor.
