Are you a new member of the Wayzata Yacht Club (WYC)? Maybe you're a current boat owner looking for some crew members for this season's race...Perhaps you think you want to join but really just want everyone to answer your questions about how sailing is different than racing and can you REALLY crew on a boat without any sailing experience?!? (spoiler alert -- yes, yes, you can). WYC is happy to offer this opportunity for new captains and crew members to meet and mingle with experienced crew and captains looking for sailing experiences this year. Come meet our resident KnotHeads who will help you figure out how to tie a bowline (and how to pronounce it). Any decent captain will tell you that it's more about actual sailing skill (though, yes, that's a bonus) -- Can you follow directions in a busy situation? Are you able to work in a team? Are you willing to show up reliably for races? Come meet our captains and crew and learn more. While this event is geared towards our newest members, whether captains or crew, we encourage anyone who is considering becoming a member or would like to crew a couple of times first to attend and learn more about our great community of sailors. We'll have the grill fired up with some tasty food, other snacks, and various soft drinks/colas/sodas/pops and water available.
