Description
We will wander along the trail, on a seek and find mission for Lily Family plants, learn how to ID plants in this family, and to connect with nature and ourselves.
Now is a great time to pause and enjoy the lovely energy that spring is sharing - and revel in it before we arrive in summer.
Participants should be able to walk ~5 miles total, and handle some steeper sections. Sit down/kneel to look at and commune with plants -all for about 2 hours.
About the walk:We'll amble about 2.5 miles along the edge of the lake. There are small hills and two pretty steep spots (one is wide & gravel, the other is narrow & dirt).
Once we get to the lily fields, I'll share a bit out the camas lilies, as well as their partnerhsip with other plants in the meadows. And then we'll have time to sit quietly and reflect on the spring season so far (that could be journaling, art, quiet circle time, etc.)
Recommended clothing:sturdy, firm soled shoes (ideally water resistant/proof)light layersrain coat and/or umbrellaWhat to bring:water bottlecameraPNW plant ID book(s) if you have themnotebook + writing utensilWhere we'll be:Round Lake is on the southeast side of Lacamas Lake, and has a beautiful set of camas lily fields up above. Lots of plants to see along the way, including some lily family friends.
