In 2010, I took a short-term mission trip to Cruz Blanca, Guatemala, with an organization called VisionTrust that set me on a whole new lifepath. I quit my teaching job and entered the non-profit world and have never looked back. On Saturday, May 20th, in honor of my 40th birthday, I will be gathering 100 volunteers in the Albany, NY, area to pack 40,000 meals for the very children that captured my heart on my first VisionTrust trip to Guatemala. Every meal packed equips my amazing colleagues serving in Guatemala to nurture the children in their care and ensure that they always have access to nutritious meals at our program sites. I'm thankful for VisionTrust's partnership with Kids Around the World, the organization that will be faciliating our meal packing event. Children 4 & up are welcome; preschoolers and elementary aged children will need to pack alongside a parent or other adult. We are limited to 100 volunteers due to space restrictions so please register each family member that will be in attendance.
