Description

Join the Friends of the Boston Harborwalk on a Boston By Foot tour of Fort Point Channel. On the tour, we will walk this industrial waterway from one end to the other, learning about its history and engineering marvels. Discover how the Channel came to be. Explore the workings of its three remaining historic bridges and recall its past ones. Uncover why Fort Point Channel was the most difficult undertaking of the Central Artery/Tunnel Project and discuss the changes set in motion since that project’s completion. Prepare to see the area as you have never seen it before. Boston By Foot is a welcoming community of life-long learners committed to providing opportunities for people to actively explore Boston's cityscape by conducting affordable and accessible tours. For more information, visit https://bostonbyfoot.org. The Friends of the Boston Harborwalk is a volunteer group affiliated with Boston Harbor Now.
