Occupational therapy addresses fine motor, cognitive, social, and self-care skills. Occupational therapists also address sensory integration and emotional regulation.
Physical therapy works with big movements (called "gross motor skills") that your child is developing - from rolling and sitting to walking, running, jumping, kicking and throwing.
Speech therapy works on communication skills including articulation, fluency, language, social communication, literacy, and executive functioning. Speech-language pathologists also provide alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) for individuals who benefit from it.
