The GMIC Commitee of Leaders designed this first of hopefully many gatherings:
To serve as an informative and alliance-building gathering place for like-minded and globally-oriented Intimacy Professionals and their students and colleagues
To share information about intimacy work and cutting edge, industry-widening principles of accountability and acceptance
To push the art form of intimacy choreography to lead with global majority voices at the forefront of the conversation about our body-mind-spirit experiences
To fellowship with social justice, transformative justice, disability justice and technology experts on the expansion of brave space in The Arts
To form regional groups for camaraderie , employment and networking
To establish guidelines for working as an intimacy professional on productions with members from the global majority
Through luscious programming that includes speakers and workshop format meetings in person and broadcast from New Orleans, we will invite all conference goers to listen, learn and collect valuable information that can impact their students, co-teachers, faculty and theater, TV and film environments. After registration, more information about key note speakers and plenary sessions will be delivered to those who have made a commitment to being in "the room where it happens"!
