Felipe Esparza Tickets A stand-up comedian and actor, Felipe Esparza makes a living by making fun of his life. Through many years of performing stand-up comedy in clubs and theaters across the country and opening for comics like Paul Rodriguez and Gabriel Iglesias, Felipe found his big break when he won the 2010 Last Comic Standing television competition. Since then, he has gone on to become one of the funniest men in comedy today. Life Wasn't Always Funny for Felipe Felipe was born in Sinaloa, Mexico, and was raised by immigrant parents in gang-riddled, crime-infested East Los Angeles. The oldest of seven kids, he found himself a father and in drug and alcohol rehabilitation before the age of 21. When asked by a counselor what he wanted out of life, he surprised himself when one of the answers was to be a comedian. As a comedian, he is known for his 2012 stand-up special They're Not Gonna Laugh at You, his appearance on TruTV's World's Dumbest in 2014 and his appearance on Russell Simmons Presents Stand-up Comedy at the El Rey. As an actor, Felipe had recurring appearances on The Eric Andre Show in 2012 and Superstore in 2016 and 2017. His career includes a stint as one of the comedians on Que Locos, the only English language show on the Spanish television station Galavision. His latest stand-up special titled Translate This premiered on HBO and is based on his experiences as a child of non-English-speaking parents.
