Walking and biking are great for the environment, great for your mental and physical health, and are great ways to meet your neighbors. A build-up of trash and litter has made Linear Park Trail less accessible and less enjoyable to travel through. Join us on April 29th, from 10 am to 12 pm, to help clean our community, learn about how air pollution impacts our daily lives, and the proper ways to dispose of trash, compost, and recyclables.
Starting at the Dover Ave entrance (next to Trinity Lutheran Church), we will work our way through Linear Park Trail until we hit Union Ave, at which point we will double back. Depending on total participation numbers and our pace, we can collectively determine if we wish to extend toward Fairfield Ave or Pennslyvania Ave. The total stretch we will cover is about 1 mile each way.
Trash bags, gloves, hand sanitizer, and light refreshments will be provided.
Over the course of our cleaning, we may bump into some of our unhoused neighbors. It is important to ensure that we show them respect by not violating their personal space or accidentally disposing of their possessions. Further instructions will be provided before we begin on how we can make sure that we are conscientious and have a productive/enjoyable time together.
