Description
This class is available for Operator AND Instructor Oklahoma Law Enforcement certification. Instructor candidates MUST meet the following basic requirements: Satisfactory completion of the class will result in nineteen (19) hours of CLEET CE hours. DATES & HOURS are: 07/27/23 from 8AM to 9PM. 07/28/23 from 8AM to 5PM. Achieve the mandatory scores on required courses and one hundred percent (100%) attendance and participation. Must be a valid and active CLEET certified firearms instructor Must be a valid and active CLEET certified full-time or reserve peace officer Required to actively and positively assist other shooters who have not yet achieved their qualification scores. Required to demonstrate, or perform teach-backs, upon the request of any instructor. EQUIPMENT Lever action carbine with sling and side-loading gate, preferably in a pistol caliber The following manufacturers have completed the course with exceptional results: Chiappa Marlin Rossi Uberti Winchester NOTE: To date, less than ten percent (10%) of Henry carbines have finished the class without failures that precluded the weapon from being utilized. It is strongly advised that the student bring a secondary carbine if they choose to bring a Henry to the class. The carbine must be in a caliber larger than .22. Pistol caliber carbines are most often found in the following calibers: 327 Federal Magnum 38 Special / 357 Magnum 41 Remington Magnum 44 Special / 44 Remington Magnum 44-40 Winchester 45 Colt 454 Casull Sights Aperture are preferred Non-magnifying red dot sights are allowed Standard Buckhorn and Semi-Buckhorn sights will suffice Ammunition needed 500 rounds of carbine ammunition Ammunition not allowed Any ammunition containing steel will not be allowed. Pointed bullets, excluding Hornady LEVERevolution Ammunition allowed Lead, full metal jacket, jacketed hollow point, jacketed soft point or frangible ammunition. Other Necessary items Duty handgun with quality holster No loose or floppy leather or nylon holsters No Serpa-style holsters 50 rounds of handgun ammunition Adequate cleaning supplies for the carbine and handgun Eye protection Ear protection Note taking materials Open mind Positive attitude Knee pads, elbow pads and a shooting mat are optional Anything the shooter needs to cope with weather, hunger and thirst needs
