We will explore techniques for grounding, traveling, and turning. Let's celebrate our feet, and the amazing dances they allow us to create! Dive into the foundations & footwork of that smooth, stretchy, connective magic of West Coast Swing to mix into your Fusion elixir. Brazilian Zouk Body (all levels)This class will look at the unique connection properties and body mechanics of Brazilian Zouk, and how they can enhance your Fusion dance. We will explore the embrace, frame and elasticity, hip connection, and undulations and isolations. Dancers will leave feeling more aware, in control of their body, and will practice leading/following new movements with comfort and ease. Spirals + Flow Part 1 (level 3+)Welcome to the world of spirals! Prepare your mind and body for the 3D - off axis - tilted options available to you within the structure of Brazilian Zouk. SAFETY will be the theme, as this is the most vulnerable layer of the dance. Core curriculum will include Balao, Tilted Turns, and Frango Asado. While the majority of class will be solo to understand the techniques necessary to do head movement with integrity, it will conclude with partner work integration and is ideal for any dancer who wants to lead or follow head movement in their Fusion dance. Spirals + Flow Part 2 (level 3+)Building on Part 1, this class will challenge students to apply their understanding within a partnership. We will explore how to lead/follow a sequence of movements, while focusing on transitions and invitations for improvisation. Students will feel more confident knowing when (and when not) to enter and exit head movement, culminating in a complex pattern. Prerequisite: Spirals + Flow part 1. Class LevelsClasses are leveled!
