Description

Do you consider yourself ‘spiritual’, or are you on a journey to find out what that even means, or what that journey even looks like? We often think of spirituality as a solitary thing, concerning just ourselves and our own lives. But as human beings part of a collective society, are we even able to grow spiritually by ourselves? Or is it by putting our beliefs into practice with those around us that we’re able to best connect with and develop our true, spiritual selves? In a conversation that is free and open to all, we will explore the perspective offered by the Bahá’í Teachings that our personal growth is actually closely intertwined with the growth and progress of others. What to Expect? After a brief introduction, we will examine a short selection of readings from the Bahá’í Writings as a jumping off point for what is sure to be a lively discussion on how our personal spiritual growth is inextricable from those around us. We will also have some time together to explore more deeply the Bahá’í Teachings, so join us with your questions, thoughts, and a desire to connect with others in your area who want to explore this topic as well! “All men have been created to carry forward an ever-advancing civilization.” – The Bahá’í Writings *** This event is free and open to all regardless of background or belief. Donations will not be accepted. Please note this event is not sponsored by the Seattle Public Library.
