Description

UPDATE FROM MARCH 30 - the tree still hasn't bloomed. One neighbor has felt its springy twigs and declared it "late," another neighbor has suggested it may skip blooming this year. We don't know. Megan tried to talk Paul into swapping this year to a celebration of the mulberry tree, but he said that would undermine the game of waiting for the tree :) So....we wait! We're up against Easter now, and I can't really think of a reason not to have an Easter Day afternoon gathering, so we're just going to lean in to the full range of possibilities on the date! We're shifting the St. Patrick's Day party from something planned on random date on a man-made calendar to one based on when the yellow tabebuia tree in our front yard blooms! This year, we're already figured out it won't be St. Pat's Day, and it might turn out to be in the middle of the week :) We're hoping at least some of you can come on a day that may seem random to humans, but is definitely a much more solid and predictable date according to Nature. RSVP so you'll get the e-mail when the date is set - you'll get 48 hours notice of when it's happening! Once we know the date (when the flowers will be in full bloom), here's the plan....show up at our house between 4 and 6:30 for an early supper and to just hang out. We'll have plenty of food to share and the kids can play on the swings, kick around some balls, draw with chalk on the fence, or paint the fence with water :) Megan's home brew will be here, too, so you can try some homemade elderberry mead! If you have a favorite recipe you'd like to share, please bring it. This has traditionally been a potLUCK, and that element makes sure that there's something that works for everyone's tastebuds. Bringing something is completely optional though, so if it ends up being on a date when you're slammed, just show up with a smile knowing you can eat here and don't need to make a supper plan :) Kids and fun new friends are welcome, but please leave pets at home. Parking is along Lake Charm Drive and Lake Charm Circle (on the lake side, please) if you're in a car, and if you are on a bike, just pull right up in the front yard :) Looking forward to seeing you soon!
