Piping and Drumming Rules
Competitors should be in recognizable Highland dress; encouraged but not required in chanter class.Competitors will play in the order of the times posted by the games committee and are liable to disqualification at the discretion of the steward.Competitors must enter at least 2 events to get an entry ticket.Piobaireachd competitors may not play up a level unless they have appealed to play up a level with BCPA.Drummers must provide their own piperClosing date for entries is June 10, 2023. There will be no entries accepted on the fieldBands traveling 100+ miles, who participate in opening and closing mass bands, as well as compete, will receive $100 travel moneyWith the exception of band and quartet grading, the rules of The BC Pipers Association will be applied.Any challenge or protest to procedures or scoring must be submitted in writing on the day of the games.** Please email a list of tunes to be performed in the quartet and/or medley competition along with a complete member roster to Margaret McNeill Nelson, Piping and Drumming Chairperson at [email protected].
PHOTO RELEASE: All participants, when participating at the Tacoma Highland Games, may be photographed for print, video or electronic imaging. I/we further understand the images may be used in promotional materials, news releases, and other published formats. I/we acknowledge the images will be the sole property of the Tacoma Highland Games Association.
