Why is it that only 3 percent of early childhood educators today are men?What influences men to enter the female-dominated early childhood education field and what are the challenges they face once there?How do we encourage more men to enter and remain in the early childhood education field?As the early childhood education industry struggles to identify and retain staff, there exists an untapped pool of potential workers: Men. This conference will explore ways to expand the pool of qualified, experienced, and capable early childhood professionals by increasing the employment of men in childcare settings. KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Dr. Calvin Moore, Jr.Dr. Moore is the CEO of the Council for Professional Recognition. He is an accomplished and experienced early childhood education leader, having held senior roles directing complex public departments at both the federal and state level, focused on improving outcomes for underserved children and families. He holds a bachelor's degree in early childhood education, master's degree in education, and a doctorate in Early Childhood Education.
