PLEASE NOTE NEW DATE: Wednesday, April 26th.Gardening can increase the value of your home, help improve our environment, provide ecosystems for wildlife and help improve your overall health and wellbeing. LSU AgCenter consumer horticulture expert Heather Kirk-Ballard will share insights into sustainable landscaping and native plants that can help conserve water, help mitigate the effects of climate change and benefit the environment. About the SpeakerDr. Heather Kirk-Ballard is an assistant professor and state extension specialist of Consumer Horticulture at the LSU AgCenter, a role she has held since 2019. She is the host of the Get It Growing ™ extension program focusing on home gardening, which is disseminated through video to news stations and in print to newspapers across the state. She has both an extension and teaching appointment at LSU and her research interests include sustainable landscaping, home gardening and medicinal plants. She uses her experience in public outreach and marketing to help consumers be more successful gardeners. Registration & Attendance InformationThe event is open to the public and advance registration through Eventbrite is recommended. If you are attending in-person, please print your registration ticket or have it available on your electronic device upon arrival. Doors open at 5:00 PM. Event begins at 6:00 PM. If you are attending virtually, access to the live event will be available through Facebook Live. A Facebook account is not required to view the event livestream. The event broadcast will be closed captioned, and a recording of the event will be made available on the LSU Research YouTube channel shortly after the event.
