I am writing to remind you to “Save the Date!” That’s right, on April 8, 2023, it will mark the third annual “Prayer in The Park” held by The Community Project! The City of Baker is teaming up with “The Unusual’s” to host our annual “Prayer in the Park” community wide outreach event which will be held at the Baker MLK Park located 3325 Groom Road in Baker, Louisiana. Through the power of prayer and fellowship, our goal is to meet the needs of the community and its surrounding areas. After a year filled with turmoil and grief, we want to give individuals hope as we promote peaceful unity among all. Ultimately, we want to let the attendees know that God is still in control and in the blessing business. We feel that events such as these are much needed due to the senseless killings that pervade the news and the on-going Covid pandemic that reaches across all communities. We are dedicated to letting the attendees know that prayer is the key to regaining a sense of unity, civility, and understanding in the communities that we serve. During the appearance of hopeless times, we desire to continue to give hope and be a beaming light amidst this dark and troubled world. It would greatly be appreciated if you would consider making a charitable donation to our upcoming event. All donations made will be used for “Prayer in the Park” and are tax deductible. The EIN# is 82-1278618.  Moreover, monetary and in-kind donations are accepted. Also, there are opportunities for your organization to set-up an informational booth at the event and/or to participate as a “Prayer in The Park” sponsor. There is no charge for booth set-up when you and/or your organization donate to this worthy cause. The deadline for donations is April 7, 2023.
