As well as this fundraiser, we are hosting In-person iftars across the world to bring a sense of unity during these uncertain times. SDN is fundraising to support a range of Health and Wellbeing initiatives in Sudan during and beyond the Holy Month of Ramadan. Sudan is currently undergoing a dire economic crisis, leading many struggling to make ends meet whilst also impacting on their Health (mental and physical) and Wellbeing. Our aim to support the following organizations who are actively working hard to tackle Health & Wellbeing causes in Sudan: (1) Gowana Amal - a registered children's charity which provides a high quality community center/service for children fighting cancer from different backgrounds (based in Khartoum and Medani). They are in urgent need of financial support to sustain their broad range of activities, which include providing medical supplies, educational and well-being facilities, paying off lab bills debt, transportation costs including ambulance service maintenance, and an overall environment which caters for these young champions so that they can remain hopeful and lead a life that every child deserves. (Last year, we collaborated with Gowana Amal as part of the Layali Ramadan 2022 Anchoring Hope Fund - see link here for further details). (2) Taafi organization - a registered non-profit organization in Sudan who provide a diverse range of mental health and addiction services, including diagnostic and treatment for people with substance abuse. They also use innovative ways to reach people from different backgrounds, including operating ‘mobile clinics’ and raising awareness on substance abuse in schools, universities and communities.
