This year as we Celebrate Baby Cafe Bakersfield! we are also celebrating the 10th anniversary of Central Valley Lactation Association/Lactation Matters, the parent organization of Baby Cafe Bakersfield. Since 2014, Baby Cafe Bakersfield has been providing high-quality lactation and breastfeeding care to the families of Bakersfield. Over the years we have adapted our services to be able to offer care in many diverse ways to the community, and we work with hundreds of families each year. In a community which continues to struggle with placing barriers in front of mothers who plan on breastfeeding their babies, Baby Cafe Bakersfield is a beacon of hope and a reliable resource which helps people to actually meet their own breastfeeding and human milk feeding goals. Families access our services for free, and we are POWERED by volunteers, but our services are not free for us to provide - that's where YOU can help! Profits from this and all of our fundraising go directly to meeting the operational costs of our services. Things like hosting our website, paying for our dedicated phone and text line, and all of the administrative functions needed to market and implement our work behind the scenes are all funded by donations from generous people like you. We hope you join us at our fundraiser as we have a great dinner and silent auction planned! Tickets are now on sale.
