Shoals Nonprofit Center is excited to partner with the University of North Alabama's Counseling Services to offer a Mental Health First Aid certification to nonprofit professionals. This certification is good for up to 3 years.
Mental Health First Aid provides participants with the skills needed to directly respond to presenting crisis and non-crisis mental health challenges by building confidence and increasing action towards prevention, intervention, and referral. Overall, MHFA enhances the quality of support provided on-campus as participating students, faculty, and staff deepen mental health literacy and apply strength-based, holistic plans of action for emotional, mental, and behavioral concerns. This certification class is open to the first 30 people that register. The cost for registration is $35 and covers your certification fee, lunch, and printed materials.
*If you are a licensed social worker in the state of Alabama, this certification is also worth six CEU hours.
