MIX invites you to celebrate the graduating seniors from the Richmond Institute for Design + Innovation (RIDI) at Western Michigan University (WMU)! Join the creative community for the Senior Showcase on Thursday, April 27 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. There is no better way to celebrate and interact with these talented students who are preparing to launch their careers! Students will show off their projects and discuss their experiences. Might your next team member be one of these students seeking a great opportunity in Southwest Michigan? This is a great opportunity to see how the stimulating RIDI curriculum prepares emerging designers by taking the concepts of design and innovation to a whole new level. Join us at The Foundry in downtown Kalamazoo to tour the amazing space and talk with students about their projects and futures. Food and beverages will be provided. Free parking is available on-site. Student admission is free. All others are invited to make an optional contribution. Please note: All contributions continue to support efforts to elevate the design community. About the RIDI Program The Richmond Institute for Design + Innovation is the epicenter of interdisciplinary design education at Western Michigan University. Home both to interior design and product design, curricular and co-curricular experiences prepare the next generation of design innovators for fulfilling careers. There are two creative pathways to choose from: Product Design | Created in the fall of 2016, the program brings together entrepreneurship, engineering, and fine arts coursework to train future generations of product designers interested in innovating specific products and global systems. Read more about the transdisciplinary approach preparing graduates to lead in the field of industrial design. Interior Design | The interior design program is a four-year, CIDA-accredited professional degree program that provides integrative learning through focused design studios; community-driven projects; immersive field experiences; professional practice and development initiatives; local and international charrettes; advanced design communication and visualization methodologies; studies in materiality and textile design; interior construction; as well as historical, theoretical, and philosophical-applied design.
