Yoga is a mindful physical activity that helps individuals deal with stress and is especially vital for those involved in addiction and recovery. Yoga uses mental and physical techniques to target the part of the brain that was affected by a substance use disorder and has been known to help reduce cravings. Yoga practices have also been known to activate the parasympathetic nervous system which is responsible for helping our bodies bounce back from stress. Please join me for a beginning and very gentle yoga for recovery class, Monday February 6th from 10-10:45am at Orange Door. This will be an ongoing class the first Monday of every month, and will increase based on interest. This class is by donation only, however, registration is required via eventBrite through the link below. Suggested donation is $5 however, nobody is obligated to donate. Let’s support one another in our journey to healing and recovery with some gentle stretching yoga and mindful meditation.
