We've partnered with the local bike camping experts at Out Our Front Door (OOFD) to bring you the tools and the know-how for self-supported bike camping. We believe there's no better way to get to know the the rich natural history of the Lake Michigan region than through your bicycle. And, like the folks at OOFD, we believe that amazing adventures are indeed available right outside your own front door, and that such adventures deepen your connection with and appreciation for your local environment, and create unmatched opportunities for challenging yourself, for self-reflection and for contemplation. Whether you're looking to do quick local overnights, or multi-day Midwestern treks, our staff at Cosmic Bikes and the volunteers from OOFD have extensive experience to help you prepare and get ready for a summer filled with self-supported adventures. This will be a free and informal presentation with plenty of time for Q&A. We will have several different bikes set up for touring, so you'll be able to check out different types of camping and carrying gear, as well as a selection of sleeping and cooking gear to consider and compare. And, of course, there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and get advice on camping locations, routing and gear selection from riders with many hours of bike camping under their belts. Pizza, beer and non-alcoholic refreshments will be provided.
