AGENDA: 8:45 am Arrival, Coffee, and Light Breakfast 9:15 am- 10:15 am Presentation 10:15 am- 10:30 am Q+A About the speaker: Joanna Adkisson is an associate at Baker Botts, L.L.P.'s Washington D.C. Litigation Practice. While in law school, Ms. Adkisson was a member of George Washington's International Human Rights Law Clinic and was selected as one of a small cohort of students to complete the International Human Rights Law summer intensive at the University of Oxford. She also served as the Editor-in-Chief of The George Washington International Law Review, Chair of the Van Vleck Constitutional Moot Court Competition, and research assistant to both Professor Ralph Steinhardt and Professor Sonia Suter. Additionally, Ms. Adkisson served as a legal extern to judges in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia and the District of Oregon. Her law school internships also included time with the United States Agency for International Development, the Environmental Defense Fund, and an indigent criminal defense firm. Prior to law school, Ms. Adkisson had a career in international development and human rights. She lived and worked in Africa, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East.
