Description

Hailey Hosler leads a conversation about the relationship between creativity and recovery, featuring Kasey Anderson, Gabriel Rucker, and Sarah Sears. Kasey Anderson is a gradually retiring songwriter whose songs have been covered by Counting Crows, Star Anna, and others, and who spent most of his life recording and touring before beginning his "gradual retirement" by beginning a job at the Alano Club of Portland, where he is now the Director of Development and Community Engagement. Two-time James Beard Award winning Chef Gabriel Rucker is Executive Chef and Co-owner of Le Pigeon and Canard in Portland, Oregon. Beyond the kitchen, Rucker and his wife, artist Hana Rucker, have three young kids and an urban farm in Portland, Oregon. Over the past 7 years, he has become a leading advocate within the restaurant industry for recovery, health and fitness. In 2019, Rucker, along with fellow Portland chef Gregory Gourdet, helped to open the Portland chapter of Ben’s Friends, a restaurant industry recovery group. Creative Director and self-proclaimed weirdo Sarah Sears (she/her) leads with authenticity and a bold, unapologetic spirit. An Executive Creative Director, business owner and artist based in Portland, she’s worked with brands like New Balance, Skittles and adidas. She asks tough questions and produces brilliant, badass work. Her most recent creative endeavor is BuzzCutt, an app that she is kickstaring with her wife to make it easier to find N/A while out, connecting people to bars and restaurants that have options they can actually enjoy.
