Saturday, April 22nd from 1:30PM-7:30PMParticipants will be guided through jewelry-making basics, from selecting materials, tool use, and safety to cutting and shaping metal to oxidizing and soldering pieces. Make up to four sets of earrings from scratch--textured studs, silver hoops, hammered brass, and torch-fired enamel copper. This course has a $35 materials fee, including handouts to re-create your favorites at home, earring cards, and boxes for gift giving. Beginner level. $99 workshop fee does not include materials. The $35 materials kit can be purchased from the instructor at the beginning of the workshop. (For safety, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.) We will have a 20-minute break, so feel free to bring a snack. Open to adults only. Please contact us directly if you are interested in seeing metalsmithing options for teens.
