8:00am -9:30am Bird Walk with Lauren Pharr It's International Migratory Bird Day! Celebrate by spotting some of the over 160 species of birds that have been identified here at Paradise Creek Nature Park.(very limited space - register early!) 10:00am -10:30am Grand Opening of the Elizabeth River Project's Fred W. Beazley River Academy Expansion & Reception Join in a community celebration of the new space that increases capacity for meaningful environmental education to restore the Elizabeth River. Reception to follow with light refreshments. 11:00am -12:00pm Urban Nature Lecture Series Kickoff with avian ecologist Lauren PharrAs the cofounder of Field Inclusive, a non-profit that supports marginalized and historically under-represented minorities in the natural science, Lauren will share her passion for equitable access to the outdoors and enjoyment of nature. Registration required for all events as space is limited.
