Aloha Kākou, Are you interested in learning about traditional Hawaiian navigation and sailing? Are you a resident of Waialua or Koʻolauloa in search of community? Or are you a life-long learner yearning to grow your knowledge of the ocean? Please join us for a 7 week series of classes for our "Iho No Ka Makau" program. We will learn about celestial navigation, the observation of weather patterns, ocean swells, and birds, and sailing dynamics. We will also sail our double hulled canoe, waʻa kaulua, Wanana Paoa. Through this program we are enriching our communities with traditional knowledge, building place-based awareness, and empowering the next generation to become leaders and stewards of Hawaiʻi.
