Description

Megan is a San Diego transplant who had a very difficult time making friends when she first arrived. Since starting her local travel blog, she realized how many other people were transplants or even lifelong residents looking to make adult friendships. Thus, local, community events were born! We're hopeful that these opportunities will connect you to new friends and give you a well-deserved sense of belonging in America's Finest City. Studio Casually started as a photo studio and shoot location but swiftly began working also as an event space that prioritizes bringing people together and creating communities in our city. Passionate about working with people and businesses that are doing the same! CLASS DETAILS Each participant will get one pound of clay to build with. There will be a live demonstration showing the ins and outs of HOW to create art with the clay through the process of handbuilding. With one pound of clay, each participant will be able to make anything from a cup or catch-all dish, to coasters or a candle holder. Participants will be set up with all of the materials, tools, and guidance to bring their ideas to fruition MEET OUR INSTRUCTOR Jazmin Colette is a practicing ceramicist and owner of Terra Terra, a pottery studio located in Hillcrest. With 9 years of experience and a bachelor's degree in ceramics, Jazmin loves to spend time sharing her knowledge and love of clay. She loves the play that clay brings to people's lives and watching people learn new skills and unlock new parts of their creativity. ADDITIONAL DETIALS We will also be serving light bites/appetizers and mocktails throughout the event and encourage people to come solo or with friends! Regardless, we are sure you'll leave with some new ones. We can't wait to meet you.
