“Every day, Black women die because the system denies our humanity,” Cori Bush
Black women are four times more likely to experience a pregnancy-related death than white women. This disparity is rooted in systems of oppression and injustice, and persists even when controlling for education, body mass index and socio-economic status.
For this reason Krate and Libby want to candidly share the raw journey to the birth of their (last) youngest son. This eye-opening story of birthing while Black will educate, liberate, and inspire families to expect and advocate for better birth experiences; that will lead to reduced maternal and infant mortality rates in the Black community.
Reserve your seat for this evening of sharing. There will be tears and laughter. So bring your tissues and be sure to use the bathroom before we get started!
It’s been a long time coming…but we’re ready!
