WHITE PLAINS, NY — With New York opening the COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline for eligible residents able to schedule appointments to receive the vaccine, Westchester County is asking people for patience. In a letter Monday to county residents, Westchester County Executive George Latimer said the county was eager to help people get the vaccine. "However, this is a fluid time, and I do ask for your patience as we navigate these uncharted waters," he said. Latimer explained that the state distributes the vaccine in phases based on need and risk and develops the program for distribution and authorizes the vaccination sites. He said the county receives that information and passes it along. "We are currently in Phase 1a and Phase 1b," Latimer said. He said the state has a webpage that determines eligibility and locates a vaccination location.
