John W. Anderson, MBA, TedX speaker retired after 30 year law-enforcement career in Colorado Springs including 8 years as sheriff of El Paso County. John and Lou Smit were long-times co-workers. Lou was hired by Boulder DA to assist in JonBenet's murder investigation. He resigned 18 months later in protest as a grand jury was being empanelled to indict the parents. Lou continuted to work on the case on his own time and his own expense for the rest of his life. When Lou passed away in 2010, his family and a handful of retired detectives, including the author, teamed up to finish Lou's work.
