The New Orleans (LA) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated is one of three chapters in the metropolitan New Orleans area, implement their outstanding programs in the five facets of the organization which include Services to Youth, The Arts, National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services and Health and Human Services. Since 1958, the members of The New Orleans (LA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated have served the City of New Orleans in sisterhood and with distinction. With a focus on the arts, education, health and human services, and national and international issues of note to the black diaspora, we have provided transformational programming. Currently, we are working to stem the tide of childhood obesity, create catalytic opportunities for students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities with burgeoning careers in the arts, fill the gaps that many human service agencies have suffered since COVID-19 increased the demand for their services, and lower the financial burden of higher education to equip students to enter the 21st Century workforce, particularly in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math. Since 2017, we have awarded over $50,000 in college scholarships. All proceeds of the event benefit The New Orleans (LA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and The Links Foundation, Incorporated. For over 25 years, the New Orleans (LA) Chapter has sponsored, along with the Times Picayune, the Scripps Spelling Bee, the HBCU Arts Showcase at the Ogden Museum, partnered with local schools, and hosted a Community Engagement Day addressing childhood obesity, to name a few.
