Description

Mountain Town Music & Wild Women Tribe Presents: Sound Bath and Guided Meditation with Maloca Sound (Justin Crawmer). Join us for an immersive Sound Bath and guided meditation evening with Maloca Sound on Friday, April 28th, at The Shop at 6pm. Your harmonic healing experience begins with a meditation and breathwork guided by Sofia Mileti, the director of Mountain Town Music's wellness initiative, preparing your body, mind, and soul to receive and integrate the restorative gift of sound. This sound bath includes a myriad of instruments that shift your brainwaves into a theta state. Using sound frequencies and vibration, the sound bath is an immersive experience in music and meditation. With his unique musical abilities and background, Justin creates a one-of-a-kind sound meditation experience. He has a special talent for handpans, wooden tongue drums, powerful skin drums, crystal bowls, tuning forks, gongs, and many more overtone-emitting soundscape instruments to create the space for profound relaxation, movement of stuck energies, healing and insights. Justin has been a drummer for 27 years, but discovered his passion and distinct medicine with sound vibrations through the magic of tongue drums and hang drums. As a passionate researcher, Justin has collected years of study on the therapeutic and esoteric properties of sound from a variety of perspectives including Western scientific, Eastern philosophical, and shamanic societal beliefs. This has helped him to gain a deeper understanding of how, and to what extent, sound has been used to affect human consciousness. He has worked to gain experiences which lend a perspective that incorporates art, science, philosophy, and spirituality. Justin is obsessed with soundwave frequencies, harmonics and overtones. He has spent years working extensively with cacao ceremonies, leading sound meditations, and playing live music with a variety of yoga and breathwork teachers. He is a member of an improvisational medicine music group, which is in the process of creating an album of original medicine songs and a recorded sound journey. Justin is passionate about investing his time, and energy in creating and holding space for personal healing and growth. Come show yourself some love and immerse yourself in a community sound bath experience. The night will consists of guided meditation, breathwork, and a 45 minute sound bath. Afterwards, participants will be invited to sit in circle and share anything that might have come up for them during the sound bath to integrate and assimilate the healing. This series is a continuation of the four-part Sound Healing Series collaboration that Mountain Town Music presented together with Wild Women Tribe last spring. The goal of that series was to raise awareness on mental health and offer a space for community-activated healing. Proceeds from this sound healing event will go to provide free sound healing events for Summit County's youth, elderly, and at risk populations. Wild Women Tribe connects likeminded women in transformational experiences in the outdoors though daylong workshops called WANDERS and transformational retreats. It’s become a dynamic and fun platform that empowers and unites adventure loving women and female-founded businesses through positive support, shared interests, and connection in Mother Nature. For more information, visit wildwomentribe.net. WHAT TO BRING Participants are invited to bring a yoga mat, pillows, blankets, a journal, water bottle and anything else they may desire to fully relax into the experience. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the session in order to get settled and in a comfortable space. WHAT TO EXPECT Please wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to be seated or lying down for the duration of the experience. Cell phones will be turned off and no talking or discussions will occur until the integration part of the event. Sound healing meditations can often prompt strong emotions to surface. It is encouraged to take care following the experience to not be exposed to loud, busy, energetic surroundings.
