Share helpful hints to secure an interview Our featured speaker Mr. Randy Garrett has worked for the Federal Government (United States Department of Agriculture) for the past 13 years as a Senior Program Specialist. Randy serves as the functional area expert in WIC Vendor Management and Program Integrity for the Midwest Region of the United States. He was a part of the 2016 Federal Response Team on the ground in Flint, Michigan to address the water crisis. He provided services to residents and spent 4 weeks on the ground in Flint with the CDC, EPA, HHS, and other federal agencies. Randy also serves as the President for NTEU (National Treasury Employees Union) Local Chapter 237. Prior to coming to the Department of Agriculture, Randy worked for the City of Gary (Indiana) in the Community Development Department. He served as the Compliance/Monitoring Manager for the department for 10 Years. He was responsible for monitoring all HUD and other federally funded grant programs for low/moderate income residents of Gary. Randy graduated from East Chicago Central High School and earned a B.S. Degree in Urban Planning/Regional Studies with a minor in Business Administration from Indiana State University in 1994.
