Join us as we count down the days to the Newark LGBTQ Film Festival! On Thursday April 6th we'll have a special Pre-Festival screening event of the incredible documentary STRONG ISLAND, by Oscar Nominated Director and Producer YANCE FORD. This documentary centers on the April 1992 murder of Ford's brother William, a 24-year-old African-American teacher in New York, who was killed by Mark P. Reilly, a 19-year-old white chop shop mechanic. An all-white grand jury in Suffolk County declined to indict his killer, who claimed self-defense. Following the screening don't miss the Director Discussion with YANCE FORD being moderated by KEVIN E. TAYLOR.
