Words Matter: Shifting the Dialogue About Gun Violence will provide a positive environment for learning about gun violence prevention in response to the NRA’s Convention coming to Indianapolis. The event will emphasize mutual education to raise awareness; create dialogue; and motivate action related to gun violence prevention, secure firearm storage, and the intersection of depression and firearms. It will last approximately 2 1/2 hours. Sponsored by Hoosiers Concerned About Gun Violence, Marion County Youth Violence Prevention Coalition, Stop the Violence Indianapolis, Teen Responders, Moms Demand Action - Indianapolis, and Peace Learning Center.
